Lloyds Engineering Works Limited (LEWL) has proudly announced the acquisition of contracts totaling over ₹59 crore, which includes a substantial ₹50 crore order for Steel Eco-Pickling systems and an additional ₹9.3 crore for Marine Loading Arms.

These recent agreements represent a pivotal advancement for Lloyds Engineering, reinforcing the company’s standing in the realm of specialized engineering products while benefiting from enhanced profit margins driven by cutting-edge technological innovations and a steadfast commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

The strategic implications of these contracts are noteworthy, particularly concerning the Steel Eco-Pickling systems. This offering aligns with Lloyds Engineering’s initiative to penetrate niche markets that demand advanced technological solutions, providing the company with a crucial first-mover advantage within the Indian landscape.

The Eco-Pickled Steel (EPS) technology revolutionizes the traditional steel pickling process by eliminating the reliance on environmentally detrimental acids, which have historically posed significant financial and ecological challenges. By implementing EPS, Lloyds Engineering aims to transform the industry landscape, providing a more economical setup, optimizing operational models, and producing superior-quality pickled steel.

Given that approximately 15-20% of the total steel output undergoes pickling, the market potential for this innovative technology is substantial and far-reaching. In addition to the Steel Eco-Pickling systems, the Marine Loading Arms represent another leap forward for Lloyds Engineering, as they are designed using advanced Japanese technology while being manufactured domestically in India.

This manufacturing approach is in perfect harmony with LEWL’s commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative, enhancing the company’s competitive edge by improving cost-efficiency and broadening its market reach. Earlier in FY24, Lloyds Engineering further bolstered its market capabilities by signing significant technology agreements that pave the way for innovation.

The partnership with The Material Works, Ltd. (TMW) empowers Lloyds Engineering to integrate the latest Eco Pickled Surface (EPS Gen 4) technology, marking a significant step toward environmentally responsible steel pickling practices. Additionally, the collaboration with TB Global Technologies Ltd (TBG) positions LEWL to supply Marine Loading Arms and Swivel Joints, groundbreaking engineering products that are making their debut in the Indian market.

Reflecting on these new orders, Shreekrishna Gupta, the Whole-Time Director of LEWL, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “These contracts highlight our strategic direction to align our product portfolio with niche markets that demand technologically advanced solutions. The EPS technology will serve a broad spectrum of end-user markets, delivering an environmentally friendly and cost-effective solution for steel pickling. Our loading arms, which leverage Japanese technology and are produced in India, significantly enhance our competitive position.”

With the successful acquisition of these contracts and the advancement of technological initiatives, Lloyds Engineering Works Limited (LEWL) specializes in advanced engineering solutions, focusing on Steel Eco-Pickling systems and Marine Loading Arms.

Committed to innovation and sustainability, Lloyds Engineering leverages cutting-edge technologies and adheres to the ‘Make in India’ initiative. With a strong emphasis on environmentally friendly practices and high-quality products, Lloyds Engineering aims to lead the market in specialized engineering sectors.
