In mid-September 2024, Linglong International Europe d.o.o., the first Chinese tire manufacturing plant in Europe, officially entered mass production. This marks a major achievement for Linglong Tire’s “7+5” global strategy, setting a new milestone in its worldwide expansion. The event was attended by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, along with other government officials, Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Ming, industry experts, and representatives from Linglong’s global partners and the media.

Launched in 2019, Linglong Europe has garnered international attention with a $990 million investment and an annual capacity of 13.62 million high-performance radial tires. The European factory incorporates cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, mobile sensing, big data, and robotics. It is designed to be a state-of-the-art facility focused on safety, environmental sustainability, automation, and efficiency. The plant’s full digital and automated processes ensure high-quality production and improved efficiency, from raw materials to finished goods.

The plant’s “green, clean, efficient, and lean” design sets a new standard for environmentally friendly and intelligent tire production. During a visit to the factory, leaders and guests expressed admiration for its advanced technology, with President Vučić calling it “unbelievable and incredible.” He praised the factory for its contribution to the tire industry and for putting Serbia on the map as a hub for next-gen manufacturing.

The mass production launch is a significant step in Linglong’s global strategy and will provide European markets with high-performance, eco-friendly tires with low rolling resistance and strong handling capabilities. This accomplishment also enhances the company’s competitiveness in the global tire market and strengthens its position in Europe.

Building on this success, Linglong announced the start of its Phase II expansion in Europe, which will increase annual production by 1.1 million tires. This includes 800,000 commercial vehicle tires, 50,000 engineering radial tires, 150,000 agricultural radial tires, and 100,000 retreaded tires, along with projects for reclaimed rubber and photovoltaic power generation.

At the production ceremony, Linglong signed an additional investment memorandum with the Serbian government, reinforcing the partnership and setting the stage for future projects. Moving forward, Linglong aims to align with China and Serbia’s Belt and Road initiative, promoting safety, compliance, and high-standard production practices. The company is committed to furthering China-Serbia economic cooperation and advancing Chinese manufacturing on the global stage.
