TATA POWER

Tata Power’s Odisha and Delhi Discoms were recognized with national accolades as linemen from these regions were celebrated by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) during Lineman Diwas 2025 in New Delhi. Operating across Odisha, Delhi, Mumbai, and Ajmer, Tata Power’s distribution companies serve 12.5 million consumers, delivering reliable and affordable electricity to both urban and rural communities. A special ceremony at the event acknowledged four top-performing distribution companies and five standout linemen. Among the awardees were Ladu Kishore Pradhan from TP Central Odisha Distribution Ltd. and Jai Hind from Tata Power-DDL, honored for their exceptional contributions to power distribution and service reliability.

Over 160 linemen and linewomen from more than 45 state and private power distribution, generation, and transmission companies nationwide attended the event, with representatives from states including Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and more.

Lineman Diwas, established in 2021, celebrates the dedication of frontline workers who maintain the country’s electricity infrastructure. The 2025 event, attended by Shri Ghanshyam Prasad, Chairperson of the Central Electricity Authority, honored these professionals, who brave challenging conditions to ensure uninterrupted power supply across India.

Following Cyclone Dana in Odisha, which caused widespread disruptions to the power network, Tata Power’s Odisha Discoms’ linemen played a critical role in restoring electricity to hospitals, schools, banks, and other vital services. They worked tirelessly under hazardous conditions, highlighting their indispensable role in disaster recovery and power restoration.

Beyond the accolades, Tata Power-led Discoms continue to prioritize the health and safety of their linemen. Regular safety training programs are conducted to equip the workforce with essential skills. The company also focuses on cultivating a Zero Harm Culture, ensuring safety is at the heart of all operations.

This recognition comes as Tata Power’s distribution companies continue to lead the sector. They were recently ranked among the top national utilities in the Ministry of Power’s Discom Ratings, further cementing their leadership in India’s energy sector.
