LG Electronics India has recorded sales of over one million air conditioners in the first quarter of calendar year 2026, marking the strongest start to a summer season in its history in India. The milestone underscores the company’s execution strength, robust supply chain, and ability to anticipate market demand in one of the world’s fastest-growing air conditioning markets. Early introduction of its updated product range aligned with new energy efficiency norms played a key role in driving this performance.

The company capitalised on early seasonal demand by launching its new BEE-compliant air conditioner portfolio ahead of competitors, enabling seamless availability for both retail partners and consumers. This was supported by high-visibility marketing initiatives, including campaigns during major sporting events, which significantly boosted consumer engagement and brand recall.

Managing Director Hong Ju Jeon highlighted that the achievement reflects strong consumer trust and the company’s long-term commitment to the Indian market. He noted that LG continues to invest in innovation, localisation, and manufacturing expansion, including capacity enhancement at its Sri City facility, aligned with the government’s “Make in India” initiative.

Sanjay Chitkara, Director and Co-Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, emphasised the company’s focus on delivering energy-efficient and technologically advanced cooling solutions tailored to diverse consumer needs. He added that demand momentum is expected to remain strong, supported by improved affordability and favourable policy measures.

LG’s broad product strategy contributed significantly to the milestone. The company expanded its portfolio to include a wide range of capacities and price points, from compact units designed for smaller urban homes to premium high-capacity models. Its offerings also include both split and window air conditioners, ensuring coverage across customer segments.

The 2026 range incorporates advanced features such as remote pre-cooling, automated internal cleaning for improved hygiene, and real-time energy monitoring tools. These innovations address key consumer concerns around comfort, maintenance, and electricity costs. Additionally, improved affordability driven by recent tax rationalisation on air conditioners has further accelerated adoption across urban and semi-urban markets.

Beyond domestic sales, LG Electronics India continues to export India-manufactured air conditioners to markets including South Asia and Southeast Asia, reinforcing its role as a key production hub within the company’s global network. With strong early-season performance and continued investments in product development and manufacturing, LG Electronics India is well positioned to sustain its leadership in the air conditioning segment.
