Airbus and Leonardo have signed an agreement to work together on advanced training systems and future solutions for Air Dominance challenges. This partnership will focus on promoting integrated training systems and exploring business opportunities for advanced training using the M-346 aircraft, which has logged over 100,000 flight hours worldwide.
The two companies aim to enhance their cooperation to address future military pilot training needs, leveraging their combined expertise and synergies. Jean-Brice Dumont, Head of Military Air System at Airbus, emphasized the importance of a strong defence industry for European strategic autonomy and praised Leonardo’s role in military pilot training. Marco Zoff, Managing Director of Leonardo’s Aircraft Division, highlighted the benefits of combining their capabilities to offer advanced training solutions to European and international customers.
The collaboration aims to address the growing demand for advanced air power capabilities and training, with a focus on developing new technologies and solutions for next-generation pilot training and operational readiness. The European market is expected to see over 400 new advanced trainer aircraft deliveries and significant investments in pilot training services over the next 20 years.
