The Latty Group, has announced the launch of a groundbreaking flange gasket design, the LATTYmultirating, which promises to streamline and enhance the efficiency of industrial sealing applications across multiple pressure classes. This innovative design is set to transform the landscape of flange gaskets, offering a single reference solution that adapts to four different pressure classes: 150, 300, 600, and 900.
The Latty Group, a member of the French Fab, has been a leader in the design and manufacture of industrial sealing products for over a century, operating from its site in Brou, in the Centre Val de Loire region. The new LATTYmultirating gasket represents a significant advancement in flange gasket technology, demonstrating Latty’s commitment to addressing productivity challenges and enhancing safety for both people and the environment.
A Versatile and Simplified Solution
The primary function of a static gasket, or flange gasket, is to ensure a seal between a liquid or gaseous substance and the atmosphere. Traditionally, this has required multiple gaskets to accommodate different nominal diameters (DN) and pressure classes, leading to complex inventories and the potential for incorrect gasket selection. The LATTYmultirating gasket addresses these issues with a unique and patented design that covers multiple flange classes with a single reference.
This innovative gasket design meets the stringent requirements of ASME B16.5 standards, which cover steel pipe flanges and flanged fittings from NPS 1/2 to NPS 24 in pressure classes from 150 to 900, as well as the NF EN 1092-1 standard. By adopting this ingenious approach, Latty has significantly reduced the need for multiple gaskets, simplifying stock management and minimizing the risk of errors.
High-Quality Materials and Versatile Applications
The LATTYmultirating gasket is available in a variety of materials to suit different applications, including aramid, carbon, graphite, and PTFE. These materials are chosen based on specific criteria such as temperature, pressure, fluid type, mechanical constraints, and thickness. This flexibility ensures that Latty’s gaskets can meet the demanding requirements of industries such as food, chemical, cosmetic, nuclear, petrochemical, and more.
Latty’s commitment to quality is evident in its manufacturing standards, which ensure durability against repeated mechanical, thermal, and chemical stresses. The company’s products are also certified to meet various industry standards, including FDA, CE 1935/2004, ISO, and WRAS, making them suitable for a wide range of applications.
Comprehensive Distribution and Expert Training
To support the distribution of its gaskets, the Latty Group relies on a robust network of gasket cutters both in France and internationally. These partners are well-versed in the characteristics and applications of Latty’s sealing gaskets, ensuring that customers receive products tailored to their specific needs.
In addition, Latty offers specialized training programs focused on “bolted joint assembly” and sealing systems. These QUALIOPI certified courses, available at the Brou site or at client locations, cover best practices for gasket selection and assembly, ensuring equipment reliability and environmental protection.
Founded in 1920, the Latty Group is led by Christian-Xavier Latty, the grandson of the company’s founder. Under his leadership, the company has continued to innovate and expand, providing high-quality sealing solutions that meet the needs of various industries. With 40% of its revenues coming from export markets, Latty’s reputation for compliance with strict quality standards ensures product repeatability, security, and maintenance cost reductions, particularly in critical sectors like nuclear power. The launch of the LATTYmultirating gasket underscores Latty’s enduring commitment to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction, reinforcing its position as a leader in the industrial sealing market.
