LAPP, a global leader in cable and connection technology, has unveiled the new ÖLFLEX® HEAT 700 SC at the 2025 Hannover Messe (Hall 11, Stand C15). This advanced cable is specifically engineered to endure extreme heat, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 700°C. This innovation is ideal for industries that deal with intense heat conditions, where standard cables would fail to operate.

In many industrial environments, cables with a typical PVC sheath can handle temperatures up to 70-90°C. These are commonly used in factories and plants with standard operating temperatures. However, in applications where temperatures exceed 100°C, heat-resistant cables become essential. LAPP’s extensive portfolio of heat-resistant cables already serves these industries, and the new ÖLFLEX® HEAT 700 SC is the next step in this technological evolution.

The remarkable heat resistance of the ÖLFLEX® HEAT 700 SC comes from its specially developed design and carefully selected materials. Unlike its predecessor, which used pure nickel strands, this new cable features nickel-plated copper conductors. The cable’s insulation is made from a combination of glass fibre layers and a glass fibre braid, offering superior protection against extreme heat.

Felix Graner, Product Manager at LAPP, explained, “We have refined the structure over several years. The combination of advanced conductors and insulation materials allows us to withstand higher temperatures.” The nickel-plated copper conductors also offer improved electrical conductivity, higher dielectric strength, and enable the use of smaller conductor cross-sections compared to pure nickel versions. Moreover, the halogen-free and flame-retardant properties of the cable reduce the risk of fire spreading in hazardous environments.

This single-core cable is particularly suited for environments where both high energy and extreme temperatures are commonplace. It is designed for fixed installations and wiring in industries such as foundries, heating modules, electric cookers, smelting plants, steelworks, chemical industries, and machine construction. The cable is rated for 300/500 volts, making it adaptable for various high-demand sectors.
