LAPP India has announced the appointment of Sumit Mitra as the new Managing Director, effective from 1st November 2024. With over 30 years of experience in the industrial sector, Sumit’s leadership is expected to fuel the company’s growth and enhance its market presence. He will be based in Bangalore and will report directly to the CEO of LAPP Asia Pacific.
Sumit brings extensive experience from previous leadership roles, most recently with SKF Group, where he played a key role in operational improvements and market expansion. His strong track record in both Indian and multinational organizations, combined with his expertise in talent development, positions him to drive LAPP India’s strategic goals.

In his new role, Sumit will focus on advancing LAPP India’s leadership in cable and connectivity solutions, with a focus on overcoming complex customer challenges. He plans to enhance the company’s operational efficiency, expand its product offerings, and introduce cutting-edge technologies to India’s growing market.

Sumit holds a degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Pune University and an MBA from IIM-Calcutta. His technical expertise, combined with his strategic and people-centric approach, aligns with his vision for LAPP India’s future.
LAPP India, a 100% subsidiary of LAPP headquartered in Germany, has been operating in India since 1996.
