LAMIERA, the premier international exhibition dedicated to sheet metal forming and cutting technology, returns for its 23rd edition with a revised schedule. Now running from Tuesday to Friday, this adjustment aligns LAMIERA with other global events, reflecting its growing international significance and responding to exhibitor feedback.

Over the years, LAMIERA has become a leading event in the sheet metal industry, particularly notable as Italy ranks second worldwide in production and exports, and third in consumption, based on 2023 data. Italy’s metal forming machinery sector, which reached €3.4 billion in production last year—a rise of 8%—continues to hold its ground against competitors like China and Germany. Notably, Italian exports in the sector also surged by nearly 30% in 2023, bringing export values to €1.8 billion.

Despite a temporary drop in domestic consumption in 2023, Italy remains a significant global consumer market. The anticipated release of Italy’s new Transition 5.0 law is expected to bolster demand by 2025, stabilizing recent economic challenges.

Looking to the industry’s future, Oxford Economics forecasts recovery starting in 2025, with global demand for machine tools predicted to reach €75 billion, with considerable investment growth across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.

Organized by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE and CEU-CENTRO ESPOSIZIONI UCIMU, LAMIERA is Italy’s only trade fair exclusively focused on metal forming. It features equipment for sheet metal, tube, and profile processing, along with presses, dies, surface treatments, and tooling.

This year’s theme, “The Bright Side of Metal Forming,” highlights LAMIERA’s commitment to advancing the latest industry technologies. Special attention will be given to key areas, including:

  • FABBRICA FUTURA: Covering software and digital tools for connectivity, data management, automation, and robotics in metal processing.
  • SALDATECH: Offering a comprehensive look at welding technologies essential for sheet metal joining.
  • FASTENER INDUSTRY: Showcasing screws, bolts, fastening, and clamping systems.
  • WORLD OF HEAT AND SURFACE TREATMENTS: Presenting solutions for pre- and post-production treatments in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • METROLOGY & TESTING: Featuring quality control, measuring, and testing systems vital for production standards.
  • BLECH ITALY SERVICE: Focusing on technical subcontracting and support services for the metal industry.

New this year, the Revamping & Retrofitting section will spotlight machines and plants that have been upgraded with new features, catering to a complementary market for refurbished equipment. “With its exclusive focus on metal forming machines, LAMIERA stands out in Italy’s trade show landscape,” says Riccardo Gaslini, Exhibition Manager at UCIMU. “High-caliber exhibits and innovative themes make it increasingly attractive to both national and international audiences.”

LAMIERA has become a major draw for global manufacturers and industry players. Italian manufacturers, both large and small, have made the fair an essential platform, attracting international companies from well-established sectors and emerging markets outside the EU.

The exhibition will be further enriched by LAMIALAMIERA, the event area featuring industry-relevant presentations, meetings, and foreign operator programs, as well as initiatives for educational development, enhancing the experience for all participants.
