KPI Green Energy Limited has announced that it has energised a total of 965 MWp capacity under its Independent Power Producer (IPP) portfolio, marking steady progress in the development of its utility-scale renewable energy assets. The milestone follows the recent addition of 376 MWp capacity across multiple solar and hybrid projects.

The newly energised capacity includes approximately 182 MWp of solar installations under a 250/350 MWp project and around 164 MWp of solar along with 30 MWp of wind capacity under a larger hybrid project awarded by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited. These developments are part of KPI Green’s broader 2.17 GWp IPP portfolio, which is being executed in phases.

With a significant portion already operational, the remaining capacity is under implementation and expected to be commissioned in line with planned schedules. The company’s growing base of long-term power purchase agreements supports revenue visibility while strengthening its role in India’s renewable energy sector.

Earlier this year, KPI Green commissioned its 200 MW (240 MWp) solar project at Khavda Solar Park in Gujarat, one of the earliest projects to become operational within the large-scale solar park developed by Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited. The project supplies power under a long-term agreement with GUVNL.

The company has also progressed on a hybrid renewable energy project with a capacity of over 92 MWp, combining solar and wind generation. The project was synchronised ahead of its scheduled commercial operation date, highlighting the company’s execution capabilities in managing complex renewable installations.

In addition, KPI Green continues work on a 370 MW hybrid project, where a portion of solar and wind capacity has already been energised. The remaining capacity is under development, with completion targeted within the next phase of execution.

The company has also secured a power purchase agreement for a 150 MW wind project, with commissioning expected in 2027. Financial closure for the project has been achieved, and construction activities are underway.

Beyond generation, KPI Green has entered the energy storage segment through its subsidiary Sun Drops Energia Limited. The company has signed an agreement for a 445 MW / 890 MWh standalone battery energy storage system, marking a strategic step toward integrating storage with renewable energy generation.

Backed by the KP Group, KPI Green continues to expand its renewable portfolio across solar, wind, hybrid and storage solutions, contributing to India’s transition toward cleaner energy sources. Founded in 1994 by Dr Faruk G Patel, KP Group has evolved into a diversified conglomerate with a strong presence across renewable energy, infrastructure, and innovation.

Over the past three decades, the group has delivered landmark projects in solar, wind, hybrid power, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and green hydrogen, driving India’s green energy mission forward. With its growing renewable portfolio and commitment to sustainable development, KP Group has established itself as a trusted partner for industries pursuing decarbonization and continues to set new benchmarks in the renewable energy sector.
