KP Group has teamed up with AHES Co Ltd (South Korea) and GH2 Solar Ltd (India) to establish and operate a Green Ammonia production facility in India, with an annual capacity of 100,000 metric tons. This major collaboration marks a significant step forward in KP Group’s efforts to promote green energy solutions and reduce industrial carbon emissions, aligning with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission.

The partnership has been formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by KPI Green Hydrogen & Ammonia Private Limited (KPI GH), AHES Co  Ltd., and GH2 Solar Ltd. The facility will be developed and managed by KPI GH, with AHES and GH2 providing technical support and helping secure offtake agreements for the Green Ammonia, targeting markets in South Korea, Japan, and other international locations. AHES will also be one of the primary buyers of the product.

The facility will utilize renewable energy solutions from KP Group entities such as KPI Green Energy Limited, KP Energy Limited, and KP Green Engineering Limited, ensuring a sustainable and low-carbon feedstock for ammonia production. This integrated approach benefits from KP Group’s extensive experience in the renewable energy sector, with over 30 years of expertise and a current installed capacity of more than 1.9 GW, with an additional 3.9 GW under development.

AHES Co Ltd. is a leading South Korean company specializing in hydrogen electrolyzer manufacturing, compressed hydrogen storage, and Power-to-Gas technologies. Its deep expertise in green hydrogen and international market access makes it a crucial partner in the project. GH2 Solar Ltd. is an Indian renewable energy innovator, specializing in solar power, green hydrogen, and electrolyser manufacturing, and brings essential local knowledge and execution capabilities to the initiative.

The agreement outlines the annual production and supply of 100,000 metric tons of Green Ammonia, with AHES and GH2 playing key roles in securing offtake agreements, including AHES acting as a primary offtaker. The pricing structure for the ammonia will be aligned with international market benchmarks, ensuring the product remains competitively positioned on a global scale.

In addition, the partnership includes a 15-year strategic collaboration, underscoring KP Group’s long-term commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions. This alliance is poised to drive innovation in green ammonia production and contribute significantly to the global energy transition.

“This partnership showcases KP Group’s vision to lead clean energy innovation both in India and internationally,” said Dr Faruk G Patel, Chairman & Managing Director of KP Group. “With KPI GH operating the facility and strategic support from AHES and GH2, we are setting new industry standards in green ammonia production and international cooperation.” This initiative is designed to support India’s national carbon reduction goals and renewable energy expansion, further cementing KP Group’s role as a leader in the green energy transition.
