KP Energy Limited has finalized an agreement to procure 20 units of Senvion India’s high-capacity 4.2M160 wind turbine generators, part of the 4XM platform. These turbines will be deployed as part of a hybrid energy project for a key client in the Bharuch district of Gujarat, with deliveries scheduled for the fourth quarter of the 2025–26 financial year.
The scope of the contract includes turbine supply, installation supervision, and a comprehensive operations and maintenance service package, aimed at ensuring high availability and long-term performance. This project represents one of the early commercial deployments of the 4.2M160 turbine—Senvion India’s largest and most technologically advanced model. Engineered for low wind conditions and built to handle the diverse landscapes of India, the turbine features a 160-meter rotor and can be installed with hub heights of up to 140 meters to optimize energy output and operational resilience.
Dr Faruk G Patel, Managing Director of KP Energy Limited, commented, “We value partnerships that align with our focus on performance, timely execution, and long-term reliability. Senvion’s technical strength, responsive support, and continuous innovation make them a dependable partner. The 4.2M160 platform will help us scale up generation capacity effectively while keeping lifecycle costs under control.”
Amit Kansal, CEO and Managing Director of Senvion India, said, “This order is a strong endorsement of our product innovation and engineering capabilities. We’ve designed the 4.2M160 to deliver enhanced energy generation, greater reliability, and increased site flexibility. Our commitment remains centered on providing solutions that drive long-term value for our partners.”
The 4.2M160 turbine is the result of collaborative development by Senvion’s engineering teams in India and Germany. With over 85% of the components sourced locally under the “Make in India” initiative, the model incorporates a modular design, adherence to Indian grid requirements, and simplified servicing capabilities to meet the diverse demands of Indian wind sites. This investment underscores KP Energy’s ongoing efforts to expand its renewable energy footprint and its strategy to leverage state-of-the-art wind technology to support India’s clean energy goals.
