KLK Ventures Private Limited has been awarded a contract by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, for the deployment of 500 Off-Grid Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS) across the state of Assam. This initiative is part of Component-B of the Pradhan MantriKisanUrja Suraksha evamUtthaanMahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme.
The contract encompasses the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of solar water pumps with capacities ranging from 1 HP to 7.5 HP. These systems are intended to support irrigation, drinking water supply, and other essential community water needs in regions with unreliable access to grid electricity. The project aims to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and improve water availability for agricultural and rural development.
This deployment represents a major advancement in Assam’s renewable energy infrastructure. By equipping farmers with solar-powered solutions, the project seeks to enhance agricultural productivity while lowering operating costs. It is also aligned with broader national goals of promoting energy security and sustainable rural development.
KLK Ventures’ involvement in this initiative highlights its commitment to supporting India’s renewable energy objectives. The company’s experience in executing large-scale energy projects will be leveraged to deliver the systems efficiently and in accordance with technical and environmental standards.
According to Akshat Jain, Chief Executive Officer of KLK Ventures, this project contributes significantly to long-term environmental sustainability and agricultural resilience in the region. The installation of solar-based pumping systems is expected to significantly reduce carbon emissions and operational expenses for farmers.
The project aligns with the government’s strategic goal to expand renewable energy adoption in underserved areas. Through initiatives like PM-KUSUM, the aim is to deliver economic benefits and strengthen infrastructure while ensuring environmental responsibility. This implementation marks an important milestone in the transition toward clean energy in India’s agricultural sector, with the potential to serve as a scalable model for similar projects across other states.
KLK Ventures Private Limited is a prominent Indian renewable energy company with over 30 years of experience, originally founded as K.L. Khanna Gears Industries. Transitioning into the solar and clean energy sectors in 2015, KLK Ventures has since established itself as a leading provider of sustainable energy solutions, including solar modules, battery storage systems, and energy-efficient lighting. The company operates state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Noida and Bihar, producing Mono c-Si PERC solar modules, LiFePO₄ batteries, and solar streetlights, all of which have been approved by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and listed in the ALMM.
KLK Ventures has significantly contributed to India’s clean energy transition through various initiatives. Under the PM KUSUM Scheme, the company has installed over 1,300 solar water pumps in Jammu and Kashmir, benefiting farmers by providing sustainable irrigation solutions. Additionally, KLK Ventures has been actively involved in government projects such as the Uttar Pradesh Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) initiative, where it signed a Power Purchase Agreement for a 600 kW rooftop solar plant at Deoria Medical College, as part of a broader 5 MW allocation across the state.
