In a letter shared to BSE Limited by the company secretary, Raghunath Apte of Kirloskar Brothers Limited announced the change in leadership. “As a result of this move, the Kirloskar family’s 5th Generation is now in control of strategically essential portfolios in order to continue the company’s expansion into domestic and worldwide markets. This is in keeping with the company’s transition from an infrastructure project company to a product company”, according to a press release.
Rama Kirloskar is the daughter of Sanjay Kirloskar, the Chairman of KBL. She is presently the Managing Director of Kirloskar Ebara Pumps Limited, a joint venture between Ebara Corporation of Japan and Kirloskar Brothers Limited. Alok Kirloskar, Director on the Board of KBL and CEO of Kirloskar Brothers International BV (which includes SPP Pumps Ltd), continues to oversee all international operations and leads several technology efforts at the company, according to KBL's press statement.
Rama will be in charge of the company’s domestic small pumps segment and valves business. Alok, who has been stationed in London since 2012, continues to oversee all of KBL’s international operations and oversees many of the company’s technology efforts.
