Kinetic Green is gearing up for a significant expansion in the electric vehicle market. Following the successful release of the e-Luna earlier this year, the company is now focusing on the electric scooter segment. Development is already underway, with plans to launch the new electric scooter in 18 months, positioning it as a direct competitor to Ola, Bajaj’s electric Chetak, and TVS iQube. Additionally, Kinetic Green is preparing to introduce an electric L5 passenger three-wheeler, and a line of golf carts developed in collaboration with Lamborghini, which is expected to hit the market within the next year.

In a recent interview with a newspaper, Sulajja Firodia Motwani, CEO and Co-founder of Kinetic Green, shared the company’s strategic vision following a successful round of fundraising. “The funds raised will be invested in manufacturing, EV research and development, product innovation, and aggressive marketing campaigns,” said Motwani. She emphasized the goal of making the e-Luna a mass-market product and driving consumer transition from internal combustion engines (ICE) to electric vehicles (EVs). “It’s not just about promoting our products but also about raising broader awareness across the country,” she added.

Electric Scooter to Debut in 18 Months

Motwani reported that the e-Luna has seen strong sales in the B2C segment and among gig workers. She noted that the e-Luna’s design makes it well-suited for both urban sectors and rural areas. The company plans to expand its dealer network from around 350-400 dealers to approximately 800 dealers over the next 12 months. “We’re aiming for a substantial expansion in the B2C segment and a specialized setup for B2B,” said Motwani. “Selling 100,000 units of the Luna is our dream, but our immediate target is to sell 75,000 units within the next 12 months.”

However, Kinetic Green’s ambitions in the electric two-wheeler market extend beyond the e-Luna. The company is also developing a family scooter, which they plan to introduce to the market within 18 months. Motwani explained that the goal is to create an e-scooter that serves as a strong alternative to current ICE scooters. “The scooter will offer similar performance, ample under-seat storage, and a range of 80 to 100 km to meet daily needs. The price will be a key factor, and we’re aiming for a target price close to Rs 1 lakh,” she said. The new scooter is expected to compete directly with offerings from Ola, Bajaj, and TVS.

Kinetic Green Electric L5 Passenger Vehicle on the Horizon

Kinetic Green is also focusing on the electric three-wheeler market, particularly after the successful launch of the L5 electric cargo three-wheeler. The company’s next target is an L5 passenger vehicle. Motwani described the L5 as a high-speed auto rickshaw, which is popular in southern and western India, as well as in major cities. While sales were initially slow due to the affordability of CNG fuel, Motwani expressed optimism that as battery prices decrease, demand for these vehicles will rise. “We’re expanding our EV product portfolio, and a significant focus for us this year is the launch of the L5 passenger vehicle. Customers are looking for a range of 120-150 km and high speed,” she said.

Lamborghini-Designed Golf Carts to Launch in 6-8 Months

Kinetic Green is also looking to expand its presence in the golf cart market, with plans to enter the international arena. Motwani revealed that the company is working on a golf cart in partnership with Lamborghini, which will be an innovative and aspirational product aimed at global markets. “With the recent fundraising, we’re focusing on bringing these golf carts to market. Over the next 12 months, we’ll launch a new initiative to base our entire golf cart business out of the Middle East. This location is strategic, being close to Europe and relatively closer to the US. Expect an announcement within the next 6 to 9 months,” she said. Motwani emphasized that this business is transitioning from the incubation phase to manufacturing, with a strong global focus.
