Kinetic Engineering Injects Rs 30 Crore into EV Subsidiary

Kinetic Engineering Ltd has announced a Rs 30 crore investment in its subsidiary, Kinetic Watts and Volts, to strengthen its research, development, and manufacturing capabilities for electric vehicle components. This follows the company’s earlier investment of Rs 18.5 crore, bringing the total capital infusion to Rs 48.5 crore.

Pune-based auto component maker Kinetic Engineering had announced in 2022 the establishment of a subsidiary company to manufacture electric vehicle components, including motors, axles, frames, controllers, and batteries.

“Kinetic Engineering will invest Rs 30 crore in its newly formed electric subsidiary, Kinetic Watts and Volts Ltd. This investment follows an earlier infusion of Rs 18.5 crore, bringing the total investment to Rs 48.5 crore,” the company stated.

Ajinkya Firodia, Managing Director of Kinetic Engineering, said, “This additional capital infusion into Kinetic Watts and Volts Ltd strengthens our commitment to innovation and marks a concrete step toward a more sustainable future.”

The investment will allow the company to develop efficient, reliable, and advanced electric mobility solutions for the Indian market, he added.

Kinetic Engineering Ltd is a prominent Indian automotive company known for its innovative contributions to the country’s two-wheeler and automobile industry. Founded in 1970 by the Firodia family, the company initially gained recognition for its successful line of mopeds and scooters, which became popular in the Indian market.

Over the years, Kinetic Engineering diversified its portfolio to include the design and manufacture of a wide range of automotive components, including engines, transmission systems, and other key mechanical parts for two-wheelers and commercial vehicles.
