Kia India has launched a scrappage incentive program aimed at encouraging sustainable mobility and responsible vehicle recycling. The initiative provides significant benefits to customers who scrap their old vehicles, regardless of the brand, in exchange for purchasing a new Kia car. This program aligns with Kia’s vision of reducing environmental impact and promoting a greener future for the Indian automotive industry.

Under the scheme, customers who provide a valid scrappage certificate for their old vehicles can avail of benefits worth up to 1.5% of the ex-showroom price or a maximum of ₹20,000, whichever is lower. The incentives apply across Kia’s entire range of vehicles, offering an affordable pathway for customers to upgrade to advanced, low-emission models while supporting eco-friendly recycling practices.

Hardeep Singh Brar, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Kia India, highlighted the initiative’s alignment with the government’s scrappage policy, stating, “This program not only supports the transition to more efficient vehicles but also encourages environmentally responsible choices through proper recycling of old cars.” This effort underscores Kia India’s commitment to fostering cleaner automotive technologies and supporting national policies on sustainability.

Kia India began its journey in 2017 with the establishment of a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. Since mass production commenced in 2019, the plant has achieved an annual capacity of 300,000 units.

The company has introduced seven vehicles in India, including the Seltos, Sonet, Carens, EV6, Carnival, and EV9, achieving over 1.6 million vehicle dispatches. Of these, 1.2 million were sold domestically, with over 3.67 lakh units exported.

With a strong presence of over 4.5 lakh connected cars on Indian roads and a network of 700 touchpoints in 300 cities, Kia India continues to play a leading role in delivering innovative, sustainable mobility solutions for the future.

In April 2017, Kia India signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Anantapur District. Mass production began in August 2019, with an impressive installed annual production capacity of 300,000 units. In April 2021, Kia India embraced a new brand identity, Movement that Inspires, focusing on delivering meaningful customer experiences through innovative products and services. This rebranding reflects Kia’s commitment to setting new industry benchmarks and inspiring consumers to achieve more.

Since its inception, Kia India has launched five vehicles tailored for the Indian market: the Seltos, the Carnival, the Sonet, the Carens, and the EV6.
