Kennametal India Limited, in partnership with Planet Sutra, celebrated the completion of the Harokethanahalli lake restoration project. The project covers nearly 18 acres and the lake can now hold over 140 million liters of water.
The lake, located in an area reliant on groundwater from borewells, faced issues with rainwater runoff and soil erosion. The restoration aims to improve water quality, remove pollutants, and raise the groundwater table by eight meters, benefiting up to 5,000 local residents. Additionally, the project will help revive local flora and fauna.
