KEC International Limited, a global infrastructure engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) major and an RPG Group company, has secured turnkey orders worth ₹2,872 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) in its Transmission and Distribution (T&D) business. The contracts cover the design, supply and installation of 765 kV transmission lines and represent the largest-ever single order secured by the company’s India T&D business.

The projects are associated with the evacuation of 8.5 GW of renewable energy from Gujarat, supporting the development of transmission infrastructure required to integrate renewable power into the national grid. The orders strengthen KEC International’s position in India’s high-voltage transmission segment and significantly expand its domestic T&D order book.

Commenting on the development, Vimal Kejriwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, KEC International Limited, said, “We are delighted with the strong momentum in our T&D business, marked by a series of significant order wins. The orders secured from PGCIL include the largest-ever order for our India T&D business. These prestigious 765 kV projects, associated with the evacuation of 8.5 GW of renewable energy from Gujarat, have substantially expanded our India T&D order book. We remain confident in the growth prospects of India’s T&D market, supported by rising energy demand and the country’s continued focus on strengthening its transmission infrastructure. With these wins, our YTD order intake has crossed Rs. 13,500 crores, including ~Rs. 9,500 crores from the T&D business.”

With these latest wins, KEC International’s year-to-date order intake has crossed ₹13,500 crore, including approximately ₹9,500 crore from its T&D business. The order momentum reflects continued demand for transmission infrastructure as India expands its renewable energy capacity and strengthens its power evacuation network.

The company’s latest contracts come amid sustained investment in high-voltage transmission systems to support the country’s evolving energy requirements. The development of 765 kV transmission lines is expected to play an important role in enabling the reliable transfer of electricity over long distances and facilitating the integration of large-scale renewable energy generation into the grid.
