Kanoria Chemicals & Industries Limited (KCI) has officially launched a new Formaldehyde manufacturing plant at its GIDC site in Ankleshwar. The facility, equipped with advanced Metal Oxide-based technology, has a production capacity of 345 Metric Tons per Day (MTPD), bringing KCI’s total Formaldehyde output to 763 MTPD.
The inauguration ceremony, attended by company executives including Sanjay Ojha, Chief of Manufacturing & Projects, marks a significant expansion for KCI. The new plant aims to meet the rising demand for Formaldehyde in industries such as engineering wood, textiles, agrochemicals, and pharmaceuticals, both domestically and internationally.
This expansion aligns with KCI’s ‘Vision-2030’, focused on delivering value to stakeholders and reinforcing its leadership in the chemical industry. The project has benefited from the supportive policies of the Government of Gujarat, which have been instrumental in its development.
KCI’s commitment to environmental responsibility is highlighted by the use of cutting-edge technologies in this new unit, underscoring its dedication to sustainable production practices. Kanoria Chemicals & Industries Limited is a major producer of chemical intermediates in India, with interests spanning automotive and industrial electronics, renewable energy, and textiles.
The company operates three chemical manufacturing plants in Ankleshwar (Gujarat), Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), and Naidupeta (Andhra Pradesh). KCI specializes in alcohol-based intermediates and phenolic resins and holds multiple certifications, including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and RC 14001:2015. The company is also recognized with the Responsible Care Logo by the Indian Chemical Council.
