Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited (KSSL), the defence arm of Bharat Forge Limited, has introduced its new MArG (Mounted Artillery Gun) series at Eurosatory 2026, expanding its portfolio of advanced artillery systems for global armed forces. The new family of truck-mounted 155mm artillery platforms has been developed to deliver a combination of mobility, firepower, rapid deployment and operational flexibility for modern battlefield requirements.

The MArG series is available in three configurations—39 calibre, 45 calibre and 52 calibre—allowing defence forces to choose the most suitable system based on operational requirements, terrain and mission objectives while benefiting from a common platform, shared logistics and simplified maintenance. Built on a highly mobile 4×4 chassis, the MArG series is designed to provide superior manoeuvrability across varied landscapes, including mountainous regions, deserts and infrastructure-constrained environments. Compared with heavier tracked or multi-axle artillery systems, the platform offers a smaller logistics footprint while retaining the firepower expected from NATO-standard 155mm artillery.

The systems have been developed to support “shoot-and-scoot” missions, enabling crews to fire accurately and quickly relocate before enemy counter-battery systems can respond. Each variant is compatible with precision-guided munitions and standard as well as extended-range ammunition, supporting missions ranging from counter-battery operations to fire support and battlefield interdiction.

Equipped with an advanced digital fire-control system, the MArG series delivers rapid target acquisition, precise engagement and seamless integration into network-centric warfare environments. Automated gun-laying capabilities reduce crew requirements while enabling faster deployment and improved operational efficiency.

The MArG series has been engineered with a strong emphasis on transportability and ease of deployment. Its lighter design supports strategic mobility, allowing armed forces to deploy artillery assets rapidly across diverse theatres while reducing transportation and operating costs.

Speaking at the launch, Amit Kalyani, Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director of Bharat Forge Limited, said the new artillery family reflects the company’s long-standing engineering expertise and commitment to developing globally competitive defence technologies. “The MArG series represents our vision of delivering highly mobile artillery solutions that combine firepower, reliability and operational flexibility. We are committed to supporting defence forces worldwide with advanced systems while also enabling partner nations to strengthen their indigenous manufacturing capabilities through technology collaboration,” he said.

Neelesh Tungar, Chief Executive Officer of KSSL, said the new platform has been designed for today’s rapidly evolving operational landscape. “The MArG family provides armed forces with a versatile artillery solution capable of operating effectively in demanding terrain where conventional heavy platforms often face limitations. Its mobility, rapid deployment capability and simplified logistics make it well suited for expeditionary missions as well as conventional operations,” he said.

The company is showcasing the 155mm/39 calibre MArG 39 variant during Eurosatory 2026, offering international defence delegations an opportunity to evaluate the platform’s capabilities. Designed for rapid-response forces and expeditionary operations, the system combines long-range artillery performance with the agility of a compact wheeled platform.

The launch further strengthens KSSL’s growing portfolio of indigenous defence technologies spanning artillery systems, armoured vehicles, ammunition, marine platforms and unmanned systems. Through advanced manufacturing capabilities and technology partnerships, the company continues to expand its presence in global defence markets while supporting self-reliance initiatives for partner nations.
