Bharat Forge Ltd announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Kalyani Strategic Systems Ltd (KSSL), has invested €2.5 million to acquire a 25% equity stake in Edgelab SpA, an Italy-based company. The investment was formalized through a cornerstone investment agreement signed on December 13, 2024, as part of Edgelab’s planned initial public offering (IPO).
Established in 2010 and headquartered in La Spezia, Edgelab specializes in the design and production of high-tech vehicles for marine robotics. Its applications span across scientific research, archaeology, underwater operations, offshore industries, and port area control.
For the financial year ending December 2023, Edgelab reported a revenue of €1.89 million, marking consistent growth from €1.10 million in 2022 and €1.11 million in 2021. The acquisition aligns with the terms outlined in the investment agreement and does not require additional governmental approvals in India beyond compliance with the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
