Jyoti Structures Limited (JSL) has received two Notifications of Award from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited for transmission line packages under the ±800 kV HVDC Bipole Barmer-II and South Kalamb Transmission Lines project in Rajasthan. The combined order value is ₹949.35 crore, excluding GST.
The awards cover Lot 1 under package TL01, valued at ₹474.85 crore, and Lot 2 under package TL02, valued at ₹474.50 crore. Both contracts involve the supply, erection, testing and commissioning of ±800 kV high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission lines on a total turnkey basis. Each package has a completion period of 38 months from the date of its respective Notification of Award.
Amit Dutta, Chief Operating Officer of Jyoti Structures Limited, said the company was grateful for the opportunity to contribute to India’s transmission infrastructure through projects of this scale. He added that JSL would work closely with Power Grid Corporation of India to deliver the projects as planned.
The new orders follow JSL’s recent ₹689.93 crore contract from Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited (GETCO) for the 765 kV double-circuit Pachchham–Saykha Transmission Line project in Gujarat. The company is also executing a 220 kV double-circuit transmission line project in Sri Lanka in partnership with Hayleys Fentons Limited. The project is intended to support the evacuation of wind power into the country’s national grid.
HVDC technology enables large volumes of electricity to be transmitted over long distances and is used in transmission networks that require high-capacity power transfer. Such projects involve specialised engineering, detailed planning and coordination across design, supply, construction, testing and commissioning.
