Jupiter Wagons Limited (JWL) has announced that its unlisted subsidiary, Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory Pvt Ltd (JTRFPL), has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) dated August 19, 2025, for the supply of 5,376 wheelsets—comprising 2,688 motor and 2,688 trailer wheelsets—for the Vande Bharat semi-high-speed train program. The order is valued at approximately ₹215 crore.
This strategic win further cements the group’s growing contribution to India’s modern rail ecosystem and supports the national drive to expand the Vande Bharat network across the country. These high-performance, precision-engineered wheelsets will be a key component in enhancing the safety, speed, and reliability of the Vande Bharat fleet.

As part of its long-term vision, JWL is developing a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Odisha, aimed at significantly scaling up production. The new plant will boost annual output from 20,000 forged wheels and axles to 1,00,000 forged wheelsets, positioning the company as a key player in reducing import dependency. Backed by an investment of ₹2,500 crore, this project is scheduled for completion by 2027.
