Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM), the electric vehicle arm of Jupiter Wagons Limited, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Pickkup, a rapidly growing logistics platform based in Delhi that focuses on sustainable deliveries across cities. This collaboration aligns with India’s push for clean mobility and the government’s PM e-DRIVE initiative, aiming to boost electric vehicle (EV) usage in the logistics industry. As part of the agreement, Pickkup will integrate 300 units of JEM TEZ, JEM’s advanced electric light commercial vehicle, into its fleet by the end of the year.
The partnership began with the successful delivery of the first batch of JEM TEZ vehicles, following rigorous pilot tests that proved the vehicles’ performance and range reliability on both intra-city and inter-city routes. The TEZ vehicles demonstrated an impressive range of over 190 km on a single charge, reaching up to 220 km under various conditions, from busy urban roads to intercity routes like Delhi to Chandigarh. This real-world performance sets the stage for expanding EV adoption in the logistics sector, especially in urban and regional delivery networks.
Vivek Lohia, Managing Director of Jupiter Group, emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership, noting that the collaboration with Pickkup will help accelerate the mass adoption of electric commercial vehicles in the logistics sector, ultimately contributing to a greener and more efficient transportation system.
Ankush Sharma, Co-founder and CEO of Pickkup, expressed his enthusiasm for the JEM TEZ, highlighting its market edge with CCS2 charging compatibility and a 30% increase in range per charge, enabling greater efficiency in intercity logistics. Pickkup’s expansion into key markets such as Mohali and Chandigarh, coupled with this partnership, will enhance their capacity to decarbonize logistics while boosting profitability for fleet operators. This collaboration also supports Pickkup’s goals to build a more sustainable logistics ecosystem, utilizing electric 3W and 4W commercial vehicles.
