Juniper Green Energy (JGE) has entered into a partnership with Envision Energy India to procure 200 units of its 5 MW wind turbine platforms and 320 MWh Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). These will be deployed across projects secured through State and Central auctions, as well as for the Firm Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) initiative awarded by SJVN in its first FDRE tender.
Envision’s wind turbine generators (WTGs) feature an advanced 182-meter rotor diameter and a 140-meter hub height, optimized for India’s wind and site conditions. This 5 MW turbine platform, proven in markets across MENA, Southeast Asia, and China, delivers over 40% higher annual energy production compared to the current 3.3 MW models, while requiring less land, simplifying the acquisition process.
The energy storage system from Envision includes a 5 MWh containerized storage unit equipped with high-performance 315Ah Lithium-Ion cells. The solution integrates seamlessly with a 3.45 MW PCS unit and an AIoT-based Energy Management System. Designed and manufactured to global standards by Envision, the system will include comprehensive lifecycle operation and maintenance support.
In addition to this partnership, Juniper Green Energy recently signed an agreement with First Solar to procure 1 GW of advanced Series 7 FT1 cadmium telluride (CdTe) thin-film photovoltaic modules. The company has also secured Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with SJVN, GUVNL, and NTPC, strengthening its commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio.
