Juniper Green Energy, in partnership with Envision Energy India, has commissioned India’s largest wind turbine by rotor diameter, marking a major advancement in the country’s renewable energy landscape. The deployment of Envision Energy India’s EN182|5MW wind turbine reinforces both companies’ commitment to accelerating India’s clean energy transition through advanced technology and large-scale project execution.
The EN182|5MW wind turbine features a 5 MW rated capacity, a rotor diameter of 182 metres and a hub height of 105.56 metres supported by a tubular steel tower. Designed to maximise energy generation, the platform delivers more than 40 per cent higher annual energy production compared to Envision’s EN156|3.3MW platform. Its larger swept area, ability to operate in ambient temperatures of up to 50°C and machine uptime of 98 per cent in high wind conditions make it one of the most advanced wind energy technologies deployed in India.
As part of its expanding renewable energy portfolio, Juniper Green Energy has commissioned 20 MW of wind power capacity across Surendranagar and Rajkot in Gujarat and 75.6 MW in Barmer, Rajasthan, as of June 2026. The company is also preparing to commission an additional 246.4 MW of wind capacity across these locations in the coming months. These developments follow the recent addition of 305 MW of renewable energy capacity in Gujarat and the launch of India’s first Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project in Rajasthan.
Commenting on the achievement, RPV Prasad, Managing Director, Envision Energy India, said, “The commissioning of India’s largest wind turbine represents an important milestone for the wind energy sector. Our partnership with Juniper Green Energy demonstrates how next-generation technology can significantly improve energy generation and project performance while supporting the nation’s renewable energy goals. The EN182|5MW platform reflects our continued focus on innovation and engineering excellence.”
Ankush Malik, CEO of Juniper Green Energy, said, “The successful deployment of Envision’s 5 MW turbines highlights our ability to execute complex renewable energy projects at scale. Transporting and installing blades measuring approximately 89 metres across multiple project locations required meticulous planning and engineering precision. Completing the installation of 51 EN182 turbines within six months reflects the dedication and expertise of our teams. We remain committed to building robust renewable energy infrastructure that contributes meaningfully to India’s clean energy ambitions.”
Envision Energy India will complete ten years of operations in July 2026. The company has established a strong presence in the Indian wind energy market and is expanding its manufacturing capacity to 5 GW per annum. In line with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s localisation objectives and the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, Envision plans to increase local content in its products from 60 per cent to 80 per cent, further strengthening India’s domestic renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem.
