JSW MG Motor India has introduced a Green Pretreatment Line in its Paint Shop, becoming the first original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in India to implement this eco-friendly technology. This initiative is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 1,800 tons annually, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainable manufacturing.
Developed in collaboration with PPG Asian Paints, the system utilizes an ambient temperature phosphate process at 38°C for its Pretreatment Electrodeposition (PT-ED) line. This innovation significantly lowers carbon emissions compared to traditional pretreatment methods, which typically operate at temperatures ranging from 42–50°C.
