JSW MG Motor India has fast-tracked seven innovative startups specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) within the electric mobility sector as part of its MG Developer Program (MGDP) Season 5.0. This initiative, bolstered by strategic partners within the ecosystem, is designed to encourage technological advancements, particularly in the realm of AI applications, which hold immense potential for transforming electric mobility.

The seven startups selected for acceleration in this program include Anuvega Powertronics, Aselector Technologies, Emerging Technologies, Gudlyf Mobility, Power Jet (EV Urjaa), Ravity, and Vocbot AI. Each of these startups brings a unique focus on integrating AI with electric mobility, ranging from power electronics and AI-driven customer experience platforms to innovative energy storage solutions and AI-powered contact centers.

This season of the MG Developer Program received over 100 applications from the vibrant Indian startup ecosystem, reflecting a keen interest in merging AI with the electric vehicle (EV) sector. The selected startups will embark on pilot projects aimed at finding practical solutions that marry AI technology with electric mobility. The core theme, “AI in Electric Mobility,” encourages these startups to explore how AI can not only transform business operations but also impact daily life by enhancing the functionality, safety, and efficiency of electric vehicles.

Starting in early 2024, the current season represents a collaboration between JSW MG Motor India and a diverse group of partners, including Startup India and Manthan, which operates under the office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India. Additional support comes from organizations such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Exicom, Lohum, and DRIIV (Delhi Research Implementation and Innovation), which help foster collaboration and drive technological progress among the participating startups.

Gaurav Gupta, Chief Growth Officer at JSW MG Motor India, highlighted the importance of the MG Developer Program and Grant in nurturing startups to develop AI-driven solutions for the evolving challenges in electric mobility. The program offers valuable mentorship, access to resources, and a collaborative platform where innovative minds can work together to create the future of electric vehicles. These efforts are critical in helping India’s automotive industry adapt to new technologies and consumer demands.

This season, applications poured in from 52 cities across India, and the seven winning startups were chosen based on their innovative approaches. Each startup is focused on different aspects of electric mobility. For example, Anuvega Powertronics is developing power electronics and drivetrains, while Aselector Technologies specializes in AI-powered customer experience optimization. Meanwhile, Gudlyf Mobility is innovating energy storage systems, and Power Jet (EV Urjaa) is advancing EV charging infrastructure.

Since its launch in 2019, the MG Developer Program has partnered with major innovation drivers such as Jio, SAP, and Exicom. The program has attracted over 1,550 entries, with more than 280 teams progressing to the initial rounds in previous editions.
