JSW MG Motor India has named Anurag Mehrotra as its new Managing Director, bringing with him nearly three decades of experience in sales, marketing, strategy, and business development in the automotive sector. His leadership background includes key roles at Tata Motors and Ford India. Based in Gurugram, Mehrotra will spearhead the company’s strategic growth initiatives while reinforcing its core brand values.
Meanwhile, Rajeev Chaba, instrumental in establishing MG’s presence in India, will continue as an advisor and remain part of the Joint Steering Committee. Under his tenure, MG Motor India introduced several groundbreaking products and achieved significant market expansion.
Company officials have expressed strong confidence in Mehrotra’s leadership. Yu De, SAIC Motor’s international operations head, acknowledged Chaba’s pivotal role in the company’s success and emphasized that Mehrotra’s expertise will drive its next phase of growth.
Parth Jindal, Director of JSW MG Motor India, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility and its ambitious roadmap for the future. “We are at a crucial stage in our New Energy Vehicle (NEV) journey and are ready to accelerate into a new era with an exciting product pipeline. Established as a joint venture between SAIC Motor and JSW Group in 2023, JSW MG Motor India is committed to developing a sustainable automotive ecosystem with a diverse product portfolio. Its Gujarat manufacturing facility has an annual production capacity exceeding 100,000 vehicles and supports 6,000 jobs. The company continues to drive innovation with advanced technology and localization efforts to enhance its offerings in India.
