JSW Group Chairman, Sajjan Jindal, announced plans to invest in Assam’s cement manufacturing and power sectors, including both renewable and thermal power. Speaking at the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit, Jindal highlighted the state’s rapid development and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting its growth.
Jindal also shared a personal connection to Assam, recalling his childhood visits to his maternal grandparents in Tinsukia. He fondly mentioned how his grandfather would share stories of local heroes and expressed satisfaction at the progress he now sees in the region.
“The Northeast is crucial to India’s economic future,” Jindal stated. “As India heads toward becoming the world’s third-largest economy, the Northeast will play a key role in that growth. The Prime Minister has emphasized that the country will grow when the Northeast grows.”
