JSW Energy has secured a contract from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to supply 230 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy. The contract, awarded through a competitive bidding process, marks a significant milestone in JSW Energy’s journey towards becoming a leading player in the renewable energy sector.

The company will supply power from its upcoming renewable energy projects, which will be developed and commissioned within the next 18-24 months. The power purchase agreement (PPA) is for a period of 25 years, ensuring a long-term revenue stream for JSW Energy.

This contract win is a testament to JSW Energy’s commitment to renewable energy and its capabilities in developing and executing large-scale renewable energy projects. The company aims to increase its renewable energy capacity to 20 gigawatts (GW) by 2030, aligning with India’s ambitious renewable energy targets.

The contract also highlights the growing demand for renewable energy in India, driven by the government’s focus on reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable development. SECI, a leading agency for promoting renewable energy in India, has been instrumental in driving the growth of the sector through various initiatives and auctions.

JSW Energy’s win is expected to further boost investor confidence in the renewable energy sector, attracting more investments and driving innovation. As the company continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio, it is well-positioned to play a significant role in India’s transition to a low-carbon economy.
