JSW Energy Limited announced the commissioning of 317 MW of renewable energy capacity in August 2025, increasing the company’s total installed capacity to 13,097 MW. The new capacity additions include 240 MW hydro (Kutehr project), 43 MW wind, and 34 MW solar.

With this expansion, renewables now account for 57% of JSW Energy’s overall capacity, comprising 3,617 MW wind, 2,192 MW solar, and 1,631 MW hydro. The timely commissioning will allow the company to leverage the peak renewable generation season, contributing meaningfully to overall clean energy output.

JSW Energy has a locked-in generation portfolio of 30.3 GW, including 13.1 GW operational capacity, 12.7 GW under construction across thermal and renewable projects, and a 4.6 GW pipeline. The company also holds 29.4 GWh of committed energy storage capacity, split between 26.4 GWh hydro pumped storage and 3.0 GWh battery storage systems. Looking ahead, the company has set a target of achieving 30 GW generation capacity and 40 GWh energy storage by FY 2030, in line with its long-term vision of becoming carbon neutral by 2050.

JSW Energy Ltd, part of the USD 23 billion JSW Group, is one of India’s leading private sector power producers. Since commencing operations in 2000 with its first 260 MW thermal project at Vijayanagar, Karnataka, the company has steadily scaled to 13.1 GW of diversified generation capacity across thermal, wind, solar, and hydro. With a presence in generation and transmission, robust corporate governance, and prudent capital allocation, JSW Energy continues to deliver sustainable growth and long-term stakeholder value.
