JSW Cement Ltd, a leading player in the Indian cement industry, has announced the establishment of a new production unit in Nagaur, Rajasthan. This milestone marks JSW Cement’s foray into the northern region of the country and signifies a significant step towards its goal of becoming a pan-India cement player by 2026.
Parth Jindal, Managing Director of JSW Cement, expressed his pride in the company’s expansion into North India, stating, “Extremely proud that JSW Cement is entering North India, today we have broken ground at our site in Nagaur, Rajasthan. A new beginning for JSW, one that will see us becoming a pan-India cement player by 2026. Initially, a 3.3 million unit, this unit will eventually scale to 15 million over time.”
JSW Cement, with a current capacity of 19 million tonnes per annum in India as of September last year, aims to bolster its production capacity further. The company plans to add 2 million tonnes during the calendar year 2023, with a medium-term goal of achieving a capacity of 60 million tonnes within the next five years. As part of this expansion strategy, JSW Cement is expected to make substantial investments in various initiatives aimed at reducing carbon emissions.
The establishment of the Nagaur production unit underscores JSW Cement’s commitment to leveraging its expertise and resources to cater to the growing demand for quality cement across India.
