JSW Cement Increases Capacity to 6 MTPA at Karnataka Plant

JSW Cement announced the completion of a 2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) expansion at its Vijayanagar plant in Karnataka, raising the facility’s total capacity to 6 MTPA. The expansion, which involved an investment of Rs 461 crore, increases JSW Cement’s overall grinding capacity to 20.6 MTPA.

The company aims to further boost its capacity to 40.85 MTPA through both greenfield and brownfield projects across India in the near future. “This expansion at Vijayanagar is a crucial milestone in our goal to reach 40.85 MTPA while staying committed to sustainable practices,” said Nilesh Narwekar, CEO of JSW Cement.

“Our continued growth will emphasize innovative, sustainable manufacturing methods that align with the global shift towards a circular economy.” The company is also focusing on future projects in northern and central India, with plans for new units in Rajasthan, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.
