Joint Solar, a well-established player in India’s renewable energy sector, has outlined its next phase of expansion with a strong emphasis on manufacturing higher-efficiency solar modules. With over two decades of industry experience, the company has built a manufacturing capacity of 1.3 GW and delivered more than five lakh installations across the country, reinforcing its position in the solar energy landscape.
Founded in 2000 by engineer duo Vinod Sharma and Pratibha Sharma, Joint Solar began operations at a time when solar adoption in India was still at a nascent stage. The company initially introduced solutions such as solar street lighting systems, solar power plants, high mast lighting and solar pumps. As market demand evolved, it expanded its operations in 2009, gradually strengthening its presence across multiple regions.
Today, Joint Solar has a strong footprint across North India, including Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi-NCR, while also extending its reach to eastern states such as Odisha, West Bengal, Nagaland and Mizoram. Its growing geographic presence reflects consistent demand for solar solutions in both established and emerging markets.
The company currently manufactures solar modules using polycrystalline, monocrystalline and TOPCon technologies, catering to varied efficiency requirements and customer preferences. Its production operations are supported by two manufacturing facilities, including a major unit in Pilakhua near Hapur, which contributes significantly to its 1.3 GW capacity.
As part of its expansion roadmap, Joint Solar aims to scale production of high-efficiency modules to over 5,000 units per day. This move is aligned with increasing demand for advanced solar technologies and improved performance standards across residential, commercial and industrial segments.
Vinod Sharma, Managing Director of Joint Solar, noted that the company’s journey reflects both market evolution and a commitment to continuous improvement. He highlighted that ongoing investments in research and development are helping enhance product quality and adapt to changing technology trends.
Joint Solar continues to prioritize in-house innovation and technology upgrades to remain aligned with industry requirements. Recognition through industry awards in renewable energy has further strengthened its focus on maintaining quality standards and pursuing long-term growth.
The company also pointed to the need for greater awareness around solar adoption in India. While demand is rising, expanding knowledge about renewable solutions remains essential for broader acceptance. At the same time, smaller cities and emerging markets are expected to play a key role in future growth, supported by stronger distribution networks and dealer partnerships.
