JCB, a leading construction equipment manufacturer, is aiming to sustain double-digit growth in India by introducing its new range of Stage 5-compliant construction machines. These advanced machines promise improved fuel efficiency, reduced operational costs, and enhanced productivity, according to JCB India CEO and Managing Director Deepak Shetty.

At the unveiling event, Shetty highlighted the economic benefits of the new machines, stating they can save customers up to ₹18.5 lakh in fuel costs over five years. The Stage 5-compliant models boast a 10-15% improvement in fuel efficiency, lower maintenance needs, and reduced total ownership costs, making them a significant upgrade for operators.

“The Stage 5-ready machines are more efficient, reliable, and cost-effective. They also come equipped with Roll-over Protective Structure (ROPS) technology to safeguard operators in case of accidents,” Shetty noted.

As the new machines roll out, JCB will phase out production of older models. However, the company has assured continued support for existing equipment throughout their lifecycle. In a major step towards sustainability, JCB showcased its first hydrogen-powered heavy machine at the event. Shetty emphasized the alignment of this innovation with India’s National Hydrogen Mission. “As hydrogen infrastructure develops across the country, we will be ready with our machines,” he added, underscoring JCB’s commitment to diversifying beyond diesel.

JCB attributes its consistent growth to the government’s strong focus on infrastructure projects. “The emphasis on infrastructure has driven double-digit growth for us in recent years, and we anticipate this trend to continue,” Shetty said.

To address the need for skilled operators, JCB launched “Daksh,” a VR-based simulator priced at ₹5 lakh. This portable device is designed to train operators across India efficiently and cost-effectively. JCB India also announced a partnership with Shriram Automall India Limited (SAMIL) to streamline the sale of certified pre-owned JCB machines. By manufacturing most of its equipment in India, JCB continues to serve both domestic and international markets while reinforcing its position as a leader in construction machinery.

JCB India, which produces a wide range of excavators from 1 to 38 tonnes, has built over 45,000 tracked excavators in the country to date. Leading infrastructure and development companies across India rely on JCB machines, which play a crucial role in accelerating work on major national projects as India continues to strengthen its global economic presence.
