JCB India Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of the UK-based construction machinery giant, saw a notable increase in both profitability and revenue for the fiscal year 2024. The company’s net profit rose to ₹2,074.70 crore, up from ₹1,454.70 crore in FY2023. Additionally, operating revenues grew to ₹18,824.94 crore, a jump from ₹15,299.04 crore the previous year, as per the company’s financial reports.

This financial success is attributed to strong sales performance, with JCB India selling 63,355 machines during the fiscal year, marking a 22% increase from the 52,083 units sold in FY2023. A key milestone for the company was reached in March 2024, as it surpassed 500,000 machines sold since its entry into the Indian market. JCB’s operations extend beyond India, with the company manufacturing and exporting products to more than 130 countries from its five factories in India.

In addition to higher sales volume, JCB India is also emphasizing advancements in technology. The company highlighted the growing integration of telematics, with over 250,000 machines sold featuring its “Livelink” system. This system has transformed how customers manage their equipment fleets, increasing operational efficiency in the Indian construction sector.

JCB India’s capital expenditure for FY2024 was ₹131.47 crore, a decrease from ₹207.24 crore in FY2023. This reduction reflects the company’s shift towards enhancing technology adoption and refining its product offerings. The company is working closely with its parent group to integrate new technologies and upgrade its product lineup, including both premium and mid-range machinery.

A significant focus for JCB India is aligning its operations with India’s upcoming stricter emission norms. The company is working on emission technology for its wheeled products to meet the CEV V (Construction Equipment Vehicle V) environmental regulations. This includes the development and localization of new engine technology ranging from 55kW to 112kW and conducting field tests in various environmental conditions, including high-altitude areas. These efforts are complemented by the integration of improved safety measures for operators, in line with ISO20474 (AIS160 Ph II) standards.

JCB India, which produces a wide range of excavators from 1 to 38 tonnes, has built over 45,000 tracked excavators in the country to date. Leading infrastructure and development companies across India rely on JCB machines, which play a crucial role in accelerating work on major national projects as India continues to strengthen its global economic presence.
