JBM Ecolife Mobility Pvt Ltd., a subsidiary of JBM Auto Limited, has received an order for 1,021 electric buses under the PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme-2, a key initiative by the Government of India to modernize public transport. The order, valued at approximately ₹5,500 crore, will see these buses deployed across 19 cities in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Haryana, expanding JBM’s footprint in sustainable urban mobility.

With this contract, JBM Ecolife Mobility’s order book now surpasses 11,000 electric buses, reinforcing its leadership in India’s EV-driven public transportation sector. As part of this project, JBM Ecolife Mobility will oversee the complete implementation, including operations, maintenance, and charging infrastructure. A Payment Security Mechanism (PSM) has been integrated to ensure timely payments to operators, enhancing the financial sustainability of the electric bus ecosystem.

This initiative is expected to have a significant impact, with a projected 32 billion passenger e-kilometers over the course of its 12-year deployment. Additionally, it is anticipated to reduce over 1 billion tons of CO₂ emissions, contributing substantially to environmental sustainability. The PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme-2 is designed to reduce urban pollution, modernize public transport, and enhance connectivity across multiple states.

With a strong focus on financial viability and long-term sustainability, the scheme includes provisions for comprehensive maintenance services and robust infrastructure support. Aligning with India’s climate goals, the initiative is set to significantly cut carbon emissions in the transport sector while improving last-mile connectivity for millions of commuters.

Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman & Managing Director of JBM Auto, emphasized the company’s commitment to advancing electric mobility, stating, “We are proud to contribute to the transformation of public transportation in India. This order underscores JBM’s mission to deliver sustainable and accessible mobility solutions while driving environmental responsibility.”

As JBM Auto celebrates its 10th anniversary in the public mobility sector, the company has set ambitious goals for the future. Over the next 3-4 years, JBM Auto aims to serve 20 billion passengers and achieve 3 billion e-kilometers in operational mileage, marking a significant milestone in its continued growth and contribution to sustainable mobility. JBM Auto has already deployed around 2,000 electric buses across India, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The company operates a state-of-the-art electric bus manufacturing facility in the Delhi-NCR region, with an annual production capacity of 20,000 electric buses. This latest order under PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme-2 reaffirms JBM’s role in shaping India’s EV landscape and supporting the country’s transition to sustainable public transport.
