Jay Bharat Maruti Ltd. (JBML) Group, a key player in the automotive sector and the largest Joint Venture of Maruti Suzuki, announced its plans to establish two new plants to cater to the growing demand from Maruti Suzuki. The plants will be located in Kharkhoda, Sonipat (Haryana), and at SMG Suppliers’ Park in Gujarat.
The decision to set up these facilities comes as part of JBML’s strategic expansion efforts to align with Maruti Suzuki’s production timelines. The Haryana plant is scheduled to commence production in January 2025, while the assembly shop in Gujarat will begin operations in March 2025. These additions are expected to significantly contribute to JBML’s top and bottom lines, as highlighted in the company’s latest Annual General Meeting (AGM) report.
Specializing in manufacturing key auto components and assemblies such as BIW parts, exhaust systems, fuel fillers, and suspension parts for passenger cars, JBML has played a crucial role in Maruti Suzuki’s supply chain ecosystem.
During the quarter ending December 31, 2023, JBML faced challenges in volume production due to a block shutdown at Maruti Suzuki, its primary customer. This led to lower turnover compared to the previous quarter. Despite these challenges, the company noted a significant increase in its EBITDA margin, indicating its operational resilience and efficiency.
The expansion into Haryana and Gujarat underscores JBML’s commitment to enhancing its manufacturing capabilities and catering to the evolving needs of Maruti Suzuki. By strategically positioning its new facilities close to key automotive hubs, JBML aims to streamline its production processes and strengthen its partnership with Maruti Suzuki.
