Jakson Green, a key figure in the shift towards renewable energy, has revealed the completion of its first-ever Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (RUVNL). The agreement is for a 100 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in Rajasthan, set to operate for 25 years.

Jakson Group is a leading energy and engineering solutions provider in India, committed to sustainable development. Jakson Green, a division of Jakson Group, focuses on renewable energy solutions, including solar power generation, energy storage, and electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.

Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (RUVNL) is a state-owned power utility in Rajasthan, India, responsible for power generation, transmission, and distribution in the state. RUVNL plays a crucial role in ensuring reliable and affordable electricity supply to meet the growing energy needs of Rajasthan. The company is committed to promoting renewable energy sources and implementing energy-efficient practices to reduce its carbon footprint.

This milestone highlights Jakson Green’s growing role as a significant Independent Power Producer (IPP) in India’s expanding renewable energy sector. The move also aligns with India’s goal of installing 450 GW of Solar PV by 2030. In April 2023, RUVNL initiated the project procurement by inviting proposals for setting up Solar PV projects connected to the STU in Rajasthan.

After a rigorous bidding process, the company successfully secured a 100 MW project at a tariff rate of ₹2.61 per unit. The plant is expected to be commissioned within 18 months from the date of signing the PPA, aligning with India’s renewable energy goals and Rajasthan’s increasing power needs. Kannan Krishnan, serving as the Joint Managing Director of Jakson Green Pvt Ltd, recently conveyed his excitement regarding the collaboration with RUVNL.

Kannan Krishnan highlighted the partnership’s crucial role in driving India’s energy transition towards sustainability. This collaboration not only solidifies the company’s standing in the renewable energy sector but also showcases its dedication to meeting local power needs and promoting job creation.

The 100 MW solar PV plant, set to provide clean electricity to around 80,000 households each year and reduce carbon emissions by 187,578 MT annually, showcases Jakson Green’s dedication to promoting renewable energy projects. This project signifies a major achievement in Jakson Green’s journey as an independent power producer (IPP) and demonstrates its strong commitment to a cleaner, more sustainable future powered by renewable energy.
