Jabil, a key Apple supplier, is set to expand its manufacturing footprint in India with an investment between $250–275 million (₹2,102–₹2,312 crore), aiming to add at least two new facilities over the next three to four years.
The U.S.-based electronics manufacturer currently operates two plants in Pune, Maharashtra, producing plastic casings for Apple’s AirPods within the Ranjangaon MIDC Zone. Driven by rising demand for consumer electronics, home appliances, and e-mobility products, Jabil’s expansion will feature a mix of assembly and manufacturing facilities, including a new plant planned for Tamil Nadu.
Recently, Jabil signed an MoU with the Tamil Nadu government to invest ₹2,000 crore in an electronics manufacturing facility in Tiruchirappalli. This expansion aligns with a broader trend as Apple’s suppliers, such as TDK Corporation, Foxconn, and Tata Electronics, increasingly invest in India to diversify supply chains and reduce reliance on China.
With new manufacturing sites across Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Karnataka, and Maharashtra, India is becoming a significant hub for Apple’s component manufacturing. Jabil’s upcoming facilities are poised to further bolster India’s position in global electronics manufacturing, highlighting the country’s growing role in Apple’s supply chain.
