IVECO, a brand of Iveco Group N.V., has once again extended its support to vulnerable communities in Brazil through its Solidarity Cargo program. Since 2015, this initiative has delivered essential aid to those in need, and this year, it focused on rebuilding areas devastated by severe flooding in Rio Grande do Sul during April and May. The disaster affected nearly 2 million people, leaving many communities in urgent need of assistance.
This year, the initiative concentrated on rebuilding cities ravaged by floods in Rio Grande do Sul during April and May, which affected nearly 2 million people. The project united IVECO employees, truck drivers, and local communities to assist in reconstructing homes and restoring hope through collective effort.
IVECO contributed construction materials and furniture, utilizing an IVECO S-Way heavy-duty truck to transport the donations from its SeteLagoas plant in Minas Gerais to the affected areas in Rio Grande do Sul. Two truck drivers played pivotal roles, drawing on their expertise in delivering essential supplies to flood-stricken regions while also coping with personal losses caused by the disaster.
These efforts exemplify IVECO’s commitment to supporting local communities, aligning with the Iveco Group’s broader strategy for sustainability and regional development. The Group has a significant presence in Brazil, operating three plants, three R&D centers in SeteLagoas, and a depot in Sorocaba.
