IVECO BUS, the urban, intercity, and tourist bus division of Iveco Group (EXM: IVG), has signed a five-year framework agreement with the BusGruppe purchasing consortium for the supply of up to 580 buses. The consortium includes Verkehrsbetriebe Bachstein, CeBus, KVG Stade, Omnibusbetrieb von Ahrenschildt, Pülm Reisen, and Reisebüro Schmidt. The agreement, valued at up to €235 million, represents the largest electric bus contract ever won by IVECO BUS in Germany.
Under the agreement, IVECO BUS will deliver 200 CROSSWAY Low Entry ELEC buses and 50 articulated E-WAY buses, all fully electric models designed to support the group’s energy transition. An additional 330 vehicles will include URBANWAY Hybrid articulated city buses and CROSSWAY Low Entry intercity buses powered by FPT Industrial Cursor 9-litre engines compatible with renewable fuels.
The vehicles will feature tailored options to meet the consortium’s specific requirements, such as cantilever seating, air conditioning, video surveillance, Wi-Fi, fuel-saving technologies, and USB charging ports. Deliveries will commence in 2025 and continue until 2030.
