Isuzu Motors India (IMI) has emerged as the country’s leading exporter of commercial vehicles for the fiscal year 2024-25. The company shipped 20,312 units overseas, marking a 24% increase compared to 16,329 units in the previous financial year.

This accomplishment represents a major step forward for IMI, which has been among the top three commercial vehicle exporters from India in recent years. Located in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, Isuzu’s manufacturing facility supplies both left-hand drive and right-hand drive vehicles to multiple markets across Asia and the Middle East, including countries such as Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Jordan.

The company continues to strengthen ISUZU’s global footprint, especially in the pickup segment, by using India as a key production hub for both domestic and international demand. IMI has also been increasing its retail and service presence within India, aligning with the rising customer base. The recent production milestone—rolling out its 100,000th vehicle from the Sri City plant—reflects Isuzu’s ongoing investment in the Indian market.

Rajesh Mittal, President and Managing Director of Isuzu Motors India, said, “This achievement reflects our manufacturing principles and commitment to global standards. The Sri City facility, backed by a skilled team, ensures every unit meets ISUZU’s quality benchmarks. Our exports are a strong representation of our capabilities and dedication to delivering consistent, high-quality products.”

Toru Kishimoto, Deputy Managing Director, added, “The continued growth in demand for our exports shows the confidence that global markets have in Indian manufacturing. Our vehicles meet rigorous quality and performance expectations and are gaining steady traction worldwide.”

With each unit exported, IMI strengthens its role as a key contributor to the global commercial vehicle supply chain, firmly establishing India as a competitive base for automotive production. The company, a subsidiary of the Japanese automotive manufacturer Isuzu Motors, has established itself as a key player in the Indian commercial vehicle and SUV market. Known for its robust and reliable vehicles, it offers a range of products including pick-up trucks, utility vehicles, and heavy-duty trucks tailored to meet the diverse needs of Indian consumers.

The company operates a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, which is pivotal to its production strategy in the region. With a commitment to quality and durability, it continues to strengthen its presence through an expanding network of dealerships and service centers across the country, catering to both urban and rural markets. The company emphasizes technological innovation and customer satisfaction, aiming to enhance its market share and support India’s growing automotive sector.
