Isuzu Motors India Achieves Production Milestone of One Lakh Vehicles at Sri City Plant

Isuzu Motors India has achieved a major milestone, producing its one lakhth vehicle at its Sri City manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh. This landmark achievement was marked by the production of the popular Isuzu D-MAX V-Cross, showcasing the company’s growing prominence and dedication to the Indian automotive market.

The celebration was attended by N. Yuvaraj, Secretary to the Andhra Pradesh Government’s Industries, Commerce, and Food Processing Department, alongside notable guests such as Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder and Managing Director of Sri City, and Makoto Sado, Chairman of the Sri City Japanese Company Group. Isuzu Motors India began operations in Sri City in 2016, establishing a state-of-the-art facility. By 2020, Phase-II operations were launched, introducing a press shop and engine assembly plant. The facility has since produced over 14 lakh pressed parts, highlighting its robust manufacturing capabilities.

In the last two years, the company has doubled its production capacity for vehicles and engines, driven by rising market demand. This growth aligns with Isuzu’s “Make in India” strategy, emphasizing the strengthening of domestic manufacturing and expanding the brand’s global presence.

Rajesh Mittal, President and Managing Director of Isuzu Motors India, expressed pride in the company’s journey. He noted, “This milestone reflects our progress in both production and exports. We take pride in having a diverse workforce, with 22% of our production line staff being women, and all our production workforce being skilled diploma engineers. These factors enable us to deliver vehicles that meet Isuzu’s stringent global quality standards.”

Deputy Managing Director Toru Kishimoto emphasized the trust customers have placed in Isuzu’s vehicles, saying, “India is a market of immense potential, and we are committed to offering reliable, innovative mobility solutions to meet its growing needs.”
