Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik inaugurates 22 Industrial Projects: Major Boost to Make in Odisha

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik recently performed Groundbreaking of 17 industrial projects and inaugurated 5 projects. The inaugurated projects range from Metal and downstream, Tourism, Textile, and apparel to Cement, Plastic, and Food processing sectors. In a major boost to the ‘Make in Odisha’ initiative, these 22 industrial units with a combined investment of ₹13,311.53 crores will create employment opportunities for 10,677 persons in the state. 

Addressing the gathering, CM Patnaik said, “I am pleased to see that gradually we are going high with impressive investments in the manufacturing sector, solidifying Odisha’s position as a Manufacturing Hub of India. Our consistent efforts aimed at improving the investment ecosystem coupled with our peaceful social climate are slowly paying off to realize our desired goal. I am glad to realize that Odisha is launching 22 industrial projects, at the 11th phase of the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremony, with an investment of over ₹13 thousand crores that can generate jobs for over 10 thousand 6 hundred persons".

"The Mo Sarkar and 5T Initiatives of the Odisha Government are in place to ensure effective streamlining of the investment facilitation mechanism in the State. It is to be ensured that the Citizens and Businesses are offered services from the Government in a hassle-free and time-bound manner. In line with this objective, the launching of the mobile version of GO PLUS, the land bank information system will prove particularly beneficial for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the State”, added CM Patnaik.

Captain Dibya Shankar Mishra, Minister of Energy, Industries, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of Odisha added, “Under the 5T charter and Mo Sarkar initiative, the state, over the past few months developed as well as enabled online registration and approval systems for over 30 Government to Business services".

He adds, "With such systems in place, hassle-free and prompt services for industries right from the state department level to the district and block levels can be ensured. Furthermore, the state Single Window System GO SWIFT has been further streamlined which now offers over 50 services covering 18 departments through an end-to-end online mechanism eliminating the need of any physical touchpoint between the applicant and the approving authority.”

The other dignitaries present in the ceremony were, Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, Chief Secretary, Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary Industries, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Chairman & Managing Director IDCO, Satyabrat Sahu, Principal Secretary, MSME, Dr Nitin Jawale, Managing Director, IPICOL. The event entailed the inauguration of 5 new projects, some of which are – a logistic park by KTL Logistics and Services Limited(Purvi Bharat), a five-star hotel in Bhubaneswar by Lifeline Multi-ventures Pvt Ltd, a Water and Amusement Park by Fun Leela Water Park.

The event also witnessed the ground-breaking of 17 new industrial projects, some of which included – expansion of Jindal Stainless’s Crude Stainless Steel capacity, expansion of Yazdani Steel & Power’s Integrated steel plant from 0.07 MTPA to 1.19 MTPA in Kalinganagar, Jajpur by Yazdani Steel & Power Limited, additional Clinker capacity of 1.32 MTPA and Cement capacity of 1.05 MTPA at Kutra, Sundergarh by Shiva Cement Limited (SCL), expansion of MGM Minerals’ project by setting up 0.125 MTPA Sponge Iron Plant, 0.6 MTPA Pellet Plant, 0.25 MTPA MS Billets, 0.25 MTPA TMT & Wire Rods and 40 MW Captive Power Plant at Nimdha, Dhenkanal by MGM Minerals Limited.

IPICOL has recently launched the mobile version of GO-PLUS, a web-based platform to display real-time information about the industrial land available in the State. Also, a land bank of 1,00,000 acres for industrial has been created by IDCO. Odisha is fast emerging as the ‘Manufacturing Hub of Eastern India’. In a bid to foster the development of a conducive environment for industries, the Government has always strived to provide the investors in Odisha, a hassle-free and conducive business environment.
