Interarch Building Products, a leader in pre-engineered steel construction solutions, is bidding for the Tata Group’s lithium battery project in Gujarat, according to Managing Director Arvind Nanda. Agratas Energy Storage Solutions, a Tata Group company, is setting up a 20 GWh lithium battery cell plant on 22.50 lakh sq. meters of land in Sanand. Interarch, known for its turnkey solutions encompassing design, engineering, and construction, is already engaged in building Micron’s semiconductor assembly plant in Gujarat, a project led by Tata Projects.

In addition to its Gujarat ventures, Interarch has secured a significant order for a microchip assembly and testing plant in Assam, a ₹27,000 crore project being developed by Tata Electronics. The company is also working on various renewable energy projects, including a large-scale initiative for Reliance Solar and Amara Raja’s lithium battery project. It is actively bidding for contracts with Warree Energies, Vikram Solar, and others in the renewables sector. Interarch recently delivered India’s first lithium-ion battery plant with a capacity of 12 GW for Exide, marking a major milestone.

Interarch ended the September quarter with an order book exceeding ₹1,300 crore and has a project pipeline worth ₹2,500-3,000 crore, comprising bids likely to be finalized within a year. The company, which went public in August, has an extensive clientele, including Asian Paints, Grasim, HUL, Berger Paints, and PepsiCo. It is also engaged in building a 1.5 lakh sq. meter warehouse for Flipkart as part of its work with leading e-commerce players.

Nanda highlighted the challenges in the industry, particularly the shortage of highly skilled engineers, which impacts the execution of complex design and engineering tasks. Despite these hurdles, Interarch continues to expand its footprint across sectors, including semiconductors, renewables, and industrial construction, cementing its role as a critical partner in India’s infrastructure growth story.
