Inox Clean Energy announced on Monday that its subsidiary, Inox Solar, has started manufacturing solar modules at its new facility in Bavla, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The fully automated plant uses advanced technology to produce N-type TOPCon solar modules, incorporating M10, G12R, and G12 solar cells, according to the company’s statement.
Inox Clean Energy’s wholly-owned unit, Inox Solar Ltd, shared that the first phase of the Bavla facility is now operational with a production capacity of 1.2 GW, part of the larger 3 GW planned capacity. This cutting-edge module technology is globally recognized for its enhanced efficiency, reduced performance loss over time, and improved reliability, setting new standards for solar power systems.
The bifacial modules allow power generation from both sides, increasing the Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF) and overall energy output. Plans are already underway to expand the Bavla plant to its full 3 GW capacity during the second phase.
In addition, Inox Solar is developing a large-scale integrated facility in Dhenkanal, Odisha, with a combined solar cell and module manufacturing capacity of 4.8 GW. This project aims to strengthen India’s domestic solar manufacturing capabilities, reduce reliance on imports, and position the country as a key player in the global renewable energy supply chain.
Devansh Jain, Executive Director of INOXGFL Group, stated, “Completing the first phase of the Bavla plant within four months is a significant achievement. Given the current shortage of solar cell manufacturing in India, large groups like INOXGFL with integrated solutions are well placed to capitalize on the sector’s growing opportunities.”
