India plays a vital role as a strategic market and innovation hub for Infineon, a global leader in power systems and IoT. With over 2,500 employees, Infineon India has been a driving force in research and development for over 25 years, contributing significantly to the country’s semiconductor ecosystem.

Now, the company is taking a major step forward by launching a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Ahmedabad, located within the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City). The opening ceremony was attended by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Patel, alongside Infineon CEO Jochen Hanebeck.

This cutting-edge facility in Ahmedabad marks a key milestone in Infineon’s ongoing investment in innovation and operational excellence in India. The centre will employ 500 skilled engineers and professionals within the next five years, focusing on advanced R&D in semiconductor chip design, product software, IT, supply chain management, and systems and application engineering.

This new centre will bolster Infineon’s ability to deliver top-tier semiconductor solutions and drive global technological advancements, complementing the company’s already successful operations in Bengaluru. With this addition, Infineon now has a presence in five locations across India.
